Description[ | ]
Domination used to be a regular mode that was removed from SMITE on January 8, 2014 with SMITE Beta Version 0.1.1918.2. It was possible to play it through Match of the Day until late November of 2014, when it was completely removed from the game.
The rules were as follows: Two teams of five players placed in two bases at opposite ends of the map fought for the control of three Obelisks distributed in three lanes. Each obelisk was protected by a Sand Guardian. Similar to Towers, these guardians would attack anyone in their attack radius. To capture an obelisk, players had to defeat these guardians and then they had to stand inside the capture point around them. Capturing a point would spawn a friendly Sand Guardian in the original one's place. If a friendly guardian was destroyed, the obelisks capture could be prevented by standing inside the capture area until a new guardian spawned.
Each side had a counter of 400 tickets. Controlling an Obelisk would deduct tickets from the enemy counter. The first team to reduce the enemy counter to zero won the match.
