Loki is one of the playable Gods in SMITE.

Lore[ | ]

Villain. It's a word used to describe those that break the rules, that take what they want, and care nothing for those hurt along the way. Loki, the trickster God, would say villainy is nothing more than a point of view.

The point of view of fools too mindless to seize opportunity.

Of course, with Loki now on the loose, the implications are dire. The end of times may be at hand. The final battle, Ragnarok, possibly on the horizon, for it was foretold that Loki would break free of his prison and herald the horrific final battle that would leave the Gods slain, the heavens sundered, and the world in ashes. None are more eager for that time of chaos than Loki.

Before his confinement, Loki's malicious mischief managed to affect every God in ways both beneficial and terrible. Yet Loki's most heinous act was in the death of the God of light, Baldr.

Baldr's prophetic dreams showcased his own death. Fearful for her son, Frigg forced all objects of the world to swear never to harm him. All save mistletoe. Cruelly amused, Loki forged a spear from the plant and provided it to Baldr's brother Hodr. The Gods had a new favorite game, hurling objects at Baldr and laughing as they harmlessly ricocheted. So Hodr threw the spear, but, to everyone's horror Baldr was impaled. Hel agreed to release Baldr from the underworld if all creatures of the world mourned the God of Light. And all did, save one crone who refused. So Baldr died.

When it was discovered the crone was Loki in disguise, the furious Gods bound him in entrails and hung a venomous serpent overhead. Loki's wife, Sigyn, collected the dripping venom in a bowl, but when she was forced to empty it, Loki was struck, causing such anguish his thrashing would shake the world.

But now Loki is free and already wreaking havoc. If the prophetic Volva are correct, and they always are, then the end of all things has finally come.

Passive - Behind You!

	Loki deals more damage from his Basic Attacks when hitting enemies from behind. His Basic Attacks also utilize a 5 swing progressive chain.		Notes:

	Loki disappears in a puff of smoke. While invisible, he moves faster, removes Slow effects, and gains immunity to Slow effects. His next Basic Attack from Stealth (or for 2s after) applies a Bleed to his target, dealing damage every .5s and reveals Loki. If Loki takes damage while in stealth he will be revealed for .33s.		Notes: Entering an enemy structures's attack range while stealthed will temporarily reveal him. Deals a total of 140/200/260/320/380 (+80% of your Physical Power) damage.

	Loki summons a vision of his tortured past at a target location for 4s. Enemies in range of the vision feel the poison themselves, taking damage and having their Damage Dealt reduced. This effect stacks up to 4 times. If an enemy gets 4 stacks they become Blinded, allowing Loki to benefit from Behind You! from any direction for 3s.		Notes: Can be used during Vanish's stealth without dispelling it. The decoy has unit collision. The damage/debuff is dealt/applied every 0.5 seconds. Deals up to 104/144/184/224/264 (+120% of your Physical Power) damage and reduces enemy damage up to 20%.

	Loki unleashes a flurry of 5 dagger strikes quickly in front of him, damaging and slowing enemies by 15% for 3s. After this flurry he winds up for a final heavy strike that deals higher damage and slows enemies by 30% for 3s. Loki cannot be knocked up while firing this ability. This ability can benefit from Behind You!		Notes: Can deal up to 155/225/295/365/435 (195% of your Physical Power) damage (172.5/247/322/397/471.5 (+224% of your Physical Power) damage if all hits benefit from Behind You!). Each strike refreshes the slow's duration.

Loki is the father of Fenrir, Hel and Jormungandr.
Loki was released with SMITE Closed Beta Version 0.1.1148, which is the same patch the Arena game mode was added. Additionally, his Infiltrator skin was released along with the first Arena visual update in SMITE Beta Version 0.1.1721.
In July of 2015, Loki received a major remodel, changing the 3D model, animations, and voice pack of his Default, Ssslither, and Mastery skins. His Infiltrator skin wasn't changed aesthetically, but the animations were changed to match with the new one.
In October 6, 2020, Loki recieved a significant rework to his kit. For more information about the old version, see replaced abilities section.
One of Loki's Low Health quotes, ▶️"Therein lies the value of not being seen.", is a reference to the famous How Not to Be Seen sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus.
One of Loki's jokes, ▶️"Did I tell you about the time I had Thor put on a dress? He looked absolutely fabulous!", is a reference to the well known poem Þrymskviða from the Poetic Edda.
Loki along with Cupid are currently the only gods to have two standard recolor skins.

This skin is a reference to another game made by Hi-Rez Studios, Tribes: Ascend.
This skin received a custom voice pack when Loki received his remodel, but due to the negative feedback his voice pack was recorded again.
This skin along with Diamond Sword Ares, Fernando Ares, Enyo Bellona, Trickster Loki, Leona JPF Nemesis, Blood Eagle Thor, and Sentry Vulcan are based on other games produced/distributed by Hi-Rez.
The actor who voiced this skin's first voice pack, Alex Ross, also voiced Loki.
His current voice pack's voice actor, Brandon Potter, also voiced Chilling Grasp Ah Puch, Star Slayer Anhur, Sobek, High Seas Sobek and G.I.Zhong Zhong Kui.

Joki/Last Laugh

Loki Rivals

This skin was originally meant to be a promotional skin for Smite Rivals.

The codes to obtain it were released before the game's development was cancelled, thus making it extremely limited in quantity.
Breezy Chibi Kukulkan and the Fire Giant ward were also originally from Smite Rivals but unlike Loki Rivals, they were released through chests and bundles.

This skin is based on the creature from Irish folklore, leprechaun.
The name of the skin is based on the cereal brand Lucky Charms.
