Smite Wiki

Minions Page??

Shouldn't there be a page about minions? There at least somewhat important no?

Possible wording change

Under the main page, their is a link for "boots" under item lists that I believe should be changed to movement speed items or a similar name. It specifically links to movement speed items, so I believe for clarity it should be changed to something other than simply "boots."

Jungle should be altered to "Stats." This wiki needs an explanation of the various stats and information about them (e. g. cooldown reduction maximum).

Minion information should also be added (spawn times, stats, quantity per Phoenix kill, etc.). Likewise for towers/phoenix/minotaur stats (and regen rate, etc.).

A basic game introduction should be a section. "Game Concept" or a similar title could offer "Keyboard Shortcuts" (with a V menu) and information on how the game functions.

"10 Minute SMITE intro/tutorial" is a bad link.

Requesting another sub-header after jungle, or to replace jungle named "Combat". Under this can be crowd control, jungling etc.

I have made a page on CC.

Thanks for the feedback. I will see what we can, do as quickly as possible. ^_^ Tesla 20:51, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
I didn't find a link that said "boots". I checked multiple times. Can you maybe post the url so I can see what you are talking about and work from there please. As for Jungle, it is not listed there any more. In regards to the information on spawn times, stats, quantity per phoenix kill (do you mean like the gold gained there + the effects of taking down a phoenix?), the tower, minotaur stats and regeneration rates...I will need to speak to Hi-Rez to see if I can get that information for us. We don't have a page for "Keyboard Shortcuts" but we do have a "Controls" page. That is now linked on the front page. The VGS keys are there, though I need to go in and redo those a bit more. :) ~ Thanks for letting me know about the "10 Minute Smite intro/tutorial", that has now been changed to the basic Smite Tutorial video that Hi-Rez made. Finally about the change of the sub-header "jungle" or adding a new one, two things have been done:
  • 1) The title of "Jungle" on the front page has been renamed to "Combat", which links to the common moba terms page. This is something that can be changed at a later time. The page that was under it "Buffs" has been made to look like "Jungle Buffs". As per you request, the "Crowd Control" page is also linked under that.
  • 2) The page "Special Pages" has been renamed to "Resource Pages", thus allowing us to link the page for controls, moba terms...etc, under it. ^_^

If you have any more feedback or ideas, please let me know. Thank you! Tesla 21:50, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Please add "Game Concepts" for an ~'NPC forces' subpage (minions, towers, etc.) and other calculations (e. g. how much favor is awarded). I also would like to have a correction to the sub-text: "An edit doesn't have to be massive; if you feel you don't want to create whole articles, then just fixing spelling errors and broken links is enough.". The word is THAN.

Actually the original wording of "An edit doesn't have to be massive; if you feel you don't want to create whole articles, then just fixing spelling errors and broken links is enough." is correct. --Elemunt 18:12, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

When you say - please add "Game Concepts" do you mean under a particular section, like resources? Or do you mean add another section. By section I am calling the following, sections: "Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Chinese, Hindu, Roman, Resource Pages, Item Lists, Combat". Please let me know. Thanks! Tesla 17:58, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

A wiki's most useful information is that which is not available in-game (and secondly, that difficult to find). The first things I looked for were caps. (what is max cooldown reduction and how is it calculated), icon meanings (the orange skull icon that appears in effects does not have mouse-over text yet) and experience calculation (how much XP does a player kill reward? do towers yield xp?). Currently the wiki offers a lot of already-available information. If there was a page or category for "Game Concepts" people would take a much greater interest in the site.

It could be additional sub-items of resource pages or its own category. Stats details (e. g. max cooldown reduction) and N. P. C. powers (minions, towers, phoenixes, minotaur - hp & armor per number alive, etc.) should be available on the front page.

"Item Lists" could be improved. The first thing evident when using the Items section was how difficult it was to find things. The icons are oversized (I. M. O.). The spreadsheet available when clicking the category name is better and yet the sorting is missing. Someone should be able to create a page that can sort. A drop-down menu should not be difficult, or see: for a simple radio dot filter, for a complex checkbox system, or for a great mouseover system.

Instead of listing main categories, why not offer "by Store Menu (or Tree)" as a category that links a page with the current choices as presented in-game. Other options should be "by Main Stat," "by Recommended per God," and etc.

The wording should be corrected. It is stated, "If you don't want to create whole articles." The phrase following offers an alternative to creating an article. "Than" makes a comparison or offers an alternate. If choices are available, "than" is correct. "Then" refers to a time. If something occurs, "then" is correct. If I try to explain this, then would be a good time to do it. If I try to explain this, than I should have a good example (get it? :). This may be of assistance:

Thank you Silekonn for your feedback. I will see what we can do to make changes like you have suggested. Also please remember to use a signature after you type a message on the discussion pages. ^_^ ~ Thanks again for the feedback! Tesla 09:33, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Loki needs to be added to the home page.

There isn't a link on the homepage.

Fix the "Items" wikilink

For an unknown reason, on the MP, "Items" links to Special:Random. It should link to. MP is FPP'ed or I'd have fixed it myself. Salvidrim 06:02, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

I set up the word "Items" to link to random for the time being. I am going to change that between this year-early (first week or two) of next year. So please be patient. Tesla 09:45, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

Focus Item List

Item/God/Skill Images

I had added images for the items a few weeks ago found from SMITE's press site. Should these images be used or the datamined ones for the item/god pages? --Zojima 00:18, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

The character cards on that site are old, and also contained in the game files, and they don't contain the newer releases (Guan Yu and onwards). And the other files all seem to be JPG (ew). So I'd prefer to keep using the in-game stuff.

I'm planning to go through all the god/item pages and update the images to the PNG versions. Is there a way to delete the JPG versions that I uploaded once I switch over the images? --Zojima 19:49, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

God/Item Patch History

How do you guys feel about having previous patch history for each god/item. I started adding them in (PurificationBeads Relic S9.png Purification Beads for example), but i can undo my changes if they are unneeded or unnecessary. --Zojima 01:24, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

I like the idea, I've been thinking of something like that myself, but I think making a "Patch History" section for the items and especially the gods would be better than just putting it there. Speaking of dates, I'd love to add a "release date" section for all of the gods, maybe in the infobox?
